We offer a comprehensive range of services that can be tailored to your needs. Our strengths are: our experience, strong and loyal relationships with our associates, and the ongoing trust and confidence of our clients. We have designed hundreds of gardens since 1996. For most we are involved start to finish, and for many continue to be involved with advice as the gardens evolve and mature.
Building An Extension?
Some of our clients are building an extension, a new house or altering their house in some way. If you are doing this we would advise that you call us for an initial consultation before finalising the plans for the house. It could give you a different perspective and save you some expensive mistakes. Architects design good buildings but you might find you really need our expertise to help with how that links with the outside, particularly on a sloping site. Please don't wait to call us until after your expensive terrace has been built in the wrong place!
We also offer a stand alone consultation because sometimes you just need expert advice or an experienced sounding board. Please call us to talk about it.
Our Design Philosophy
• Gardens are for people. We are sometimes asked what is our style. If you look through our portfolio you might notice that the gardens are all different. Though they are strong designs, they have responded to the individual client brief and to the place where the garden is sited. We design for you and your space, not for our own tastes or media fashion. This is why you will not find us at Chelsea, or other shows. All the awards we have won have been for real gardens that are still being enjoyed by our clients. We design gardens that will last throughout your lifetime, built in response to your brief, and your site. The best gardens are a result of teamwork: client, designer, landscape contractor.
• Less is more. We use strong shapes that work with your site: good design is not about decoration, it's often about taking away rather than adding.
• Touch the landscape lightly. Wherever possible within the brief we like to work with existing levels, recycle if possible, use natural materials if we can and keep an eye on what is sustainable. Not all of our clients want to make a compost heap, a pond or work the soil, but many of you enjoy wildlife and we like to help you find ways to encourage that in your gardens.
